Lesson 2: Architecture choice strongly shapes behavior
The architecture you pick is not a neutral implementation detail; it encodes assumptions about control, trust, and error tolerance. Single-agent systems favor simplicity. Multi-agent systems enable parallelism but require orchestration. Hierarchical architectures add oversight at the cost of complexity. Corrective workflows improve accuracy but add latency. Adaptive architectures trade correctness guarantees for responsiveness. There is no free lunch: each architecture from Chapter 3 buys one property by spending another, and you should choose with those tradeoffs explicit.
